Interesting facts about Dreieichenhain
The historic old town centre of Dreieichenhain is a unique town ensemble with a high value as a monument and, as a cultural asset, it is subject to the Hague Convention. The town is renowned for its castle, the historic old town centre, the castle church, Dreieich Museum, the 50th degree of latitude, which traverses Dreieichenhain, and its diverse range of cultural activities. Since 1997 Dreieichenhain has been part of the German Scenic Route of Half-Timbered Houses.
Hayn Castle
During the 11th century a tower castle, Hayn Castle, was built from which the lords of Hagen-Münzenberg administrated the royal hunting woods of Dreieich. Hain Castle is one of the best preserved profane architectural monuments from the Salian dynasty in Germany. The settlement which evolved near the castle was mentioned for the first time on 23 September 1256.
Festivals
Dreieichenhain is not only known for "Haaner Kerb" (country fair) at Whitsun. At the "Castle Festival" and the traditional "Jazz Festival at the Castle" you can enjoy a wonderful cultural experience.
The Christmas market is famous even beyond the region thanks to the beautiful old town centre of Dreieichenhain, it is held on the 2nd and 3rd weekend in Advent.
